NCSA and partners conduct cybersecurity awareness for students with disabilities

"Every young person deserves to feel safe online — including those living with disabilities."

As part of ongoing efforts to promote digital safety and inclusion, the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), together with partners from the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), National Bank of Rwanda (BNR), National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), National Child Development Agency (NCDA), Rwanda Education Board (REB), MTN Rwanda, and Airtel Rwanda, conducted an interactive awareness session at HVP Gatagara Rwamagana School.

The session brought together more than 200 students and 43 teachers, creating a vibrant space for dialogue and learning around online safety. Through engaging discussions, participants explored practical ways to protect themselves and others in the digital world — from creating strong passwords and safeguarding PINs, to avoiding oversharing on social media and maintaining open communication with parents about online activities.

Partners emphasized that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility and reaffirmed their commitment to raising awareness among all communities, particularly people living with disabilities, to ensure that everyone can safely access and benefit from digital opportunities.

This initiative is part of the broader #BaMaso and #TekanaOnline campaigns, which aim to empower Rwandans with the knowledge and tools to stay safe and confident online while building a more inclusive digital future for all.
