NCSA conducts national cyberdrill to strengthen cybersecurity readiness
On Thursday, 10th December 2024, NCSA in partnership with the International Telecommunications Union, kicked off a national cyberdrill for public and private sector ICT teams to improve cybersecurity capacity and incident response preparedness.
The four-day event, which runs from December 10-13, 2024, aims to ensure national stakeholders can better protect critical information infrastructure and minimize the impact of potential cyber incidents.
Amos Kamugabirwe, a representative of NCSA, emphasized that hosting this event is a significant opportunity for national stakeholders to benefit from the expertise of the ITU to enhance Rwanda’s cyber resilience and better protect critical information infrastructure.
Over the past ten years, ITU has held over thirty-five CyberDrills partnering with more than 140 countries committed to improving cybersecurity at both national and global levels. By helping nations bolster their cybersecurity frameworks, the ITU seeks to foster trust in digital technologies while safeguarding the integrity of global communications networks.
This event follows Rwanda’s recent ranking as a role modelling nation in this year’s Global Cybersecurity Index report, which proposed strengthening technical measures through initiatives such as conducting national cyberdrills to improve national cyber resilience.
