The National Cyber Security Authority is releasing the first set of minimum cybersecurity standards that establish baseline security requirements to strengthen the security and resilience of the ICT ecosystem in Rwanda.

The 3 released standards are:

• The minimum cybersecurity standards for public institutions

These baseline security requirements set the minimum level of security controls to be implemented by public and government institutions in Rwanda.

• The minimum cybersecurity standards for the financial sector

These baseline security requirements set the minimum level of security controls to be implemented by financial sector institutions that provide financial services to members of the public, businesses and other organizations in Rwanda.

• The minimum cybersecurity standards for essential service providers

These baseline security requirements set the minimum level of security controls to be implemented by entities that provide essential services to members of the public, businesses and other organizations in Rwanda.

Compliance with these requirements is necessary to minimize the risk of functional disruption to institutions and protect the trust and confidence in the services they provide.
