Tekana Online campaign sensitizes 800 students in Musanze on youth online safety

In line with the ongoing Tekana Online: Ba Maso campaign aiming to enhance digital safety for the youth, on Wednesday 15 October NCSA conducted a cybersecurity awareness session for students at GS Musanze with partners from RIB, BNR, NCDA, REB, MTN Rwanda and Airtel Rwanda.
The session engaged an audience of over 800 students, and provided a platform for discussions on practical methods to enhance youth online safety. Key topics included the creation and management of strong passwords and PINs, the function of multi-factor authentication, defining personal and sensitive personal data and how to protect it, cyberbullying, avoiding overharing on social media and other related topics.
Throughout the event, representatives from the partner institutions underscored that cybersecurity is a collective responsibility. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering awareness programs across all segments of society, ensuring equitable access to secure digital opportunities.
This session at GS Musanze forms part of the wider #BaMaso and #TekanaOnline campaigns. These campaigns are designed to provide Rwandan citizens with the knowledge and tools required for safe and confident internet use, thereby contributing to a more secure and inclusive digital environment.
