Adobe has released a security update for Adobe Acrobat and Reader for Windows and macOS. This update addresses a critical vulnerability.

Affected Systems

The following system versions are known to be affected but not limited to:

• Acrobat DC: version 26.001.21367 and earlier (Windows and macOS)

• Acrobat Reader DC: version 26.001.21367 and earlier (Windows and macOS)

• Acrobat 2024: version 24.001.30356 and earlier (Windows and macOS)

Security Risks

Successful exploitation of the identified vulnerabilities in Adobe software could allow an attacker to gain control of affected systems, enabling them to execute malicious actions.  

Recommended Actions

The National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA) recommends users and system administrators to:

1. Upgrade to the latest supported version of the installed software as soon as possible to ensure continued access to technical support and security patches.

The recommended software versions to upgrade to are as follows, but not limited to:

• Acrobat DC: Upgrade to version 26.001.21411 (Windows and macOS)

• Acrobat Reader DC: Upgrade to version 25.6.4 or 26.0 (Windows and macOS)

• Acrobat 2024: Upgrade to version Windows: 24.001.30362 | MacOS: 24.001.30360

2. Before performing any update tasks, ensure that you have a backup of your data.
